Job Summary
Inspect monitors and document all radioisotopes from receipt to disposal, administering radio-pharmaceuticals daily. Perform various nuclear imaging procedures, including daily floods, weekly bar phantoms, and daily calibrations, while maintaining pertinent logs. Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions, teaching, emotional support, and obtaining consent. Review physician orders, perform venipuncture, and develop images for radiologist review. Discuss procedure appropriateness with radiologists and handle patient comfort issues or complaints. Maintain a safe environment regarding radiation safety and aseptic technique. Requires Nuclear Medicine Technology certification with one year experience and proficiency in Meditech/Teleradiology systems.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Certification or eligible in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- 1 year experience
- Manual dexterity for manipulating function of equipment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in the use of Meditech (RIS)/ Teleradiology system
