Job Summary

Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine exams on patients using specialized equipment, ensuring proper identification, order verification, and adherence to radiation safety guidelines. Review images for quality and accuracy while completing studies within acceptable time limits. Assist students and other technicians in protocols, instruct patients on procedures, and maintain accurate records of patient information and adverse reactions. Operate equipment and information systems to ensure high-quality imaging, follow medical necessity and coding protocols, and report equipment failures. Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Current License in state of practice.
  • Clinical Board Certification, i.e. American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Basic Life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • IV certification for healthcare providers.

Desired Qualifications

  • One year of clinical Nuclear Medicine experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
