Job Summary
Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine exams on patients using specialized equipment while ensuring proper identification, order verification, and patient preparation. Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, adhering to radiation safety guidelines and NRC regulations. Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency, complete studies within time limits, and assist students in exam protocols. Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques. Keep accurate records of procedures and adverse reactions, and follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, and equipment failure reporting. Work across multiple Front Range facilities in the Imaging Float Pool, self-scheduling shifts with a minimum commitment of four shifts every 8 weeks, including hard-to-fill dates. Earn a 10% pay premium plus shift differentials for this flexible role.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or a minimum of one (1) year minimum related experience and/or training
- Current ARRT (R) (NM) or NMTCB as CNMT registry
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Current License in state of practice
- Clinical Board Certification, i.e. American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- American Heart Association (AHA) - Basic Life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- IV certification for healthcare providers
- One year of clinical Nuclear Medicine experience
- Commit to a minimum of four shifts within each 8‐week period, including at least one hard‐to‐fill shift (such as weekends, holidays, nights, or on‐call)
- Team members are expected to maintain competencies across assigned sites and work at a minimum of two different facilities per period
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
Desired Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of experience in Nuclear Medicine
- One year of clinical PET/CT experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
