Job Summary

Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, calculate doses, and administer them for diagnostic and therapeutic studies under physician direction. Calibrate imaging equipment and scanners, perform diagnostic studies using scintillation cameras, and measure radioactivity with Geiger counters. Select proper equipment for examinations, operate nuclear medicine computers to enhance diagnostic information, and utilize necessary display parameters. Maintain records of radioisotope use, storage, disposal, and patient doses to ensure regulatory compliance. Provide patient education, perform venipuncture, and complete all required consents and questionnaires. Ensure all exams are completed timely in PACS and EMR while verifying physician orders and adding documentation notes.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of one-year clinic experience in direct patient care setting
  • Requires proficiency at a technical level not requiring constant supervision in nuclear medicine
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing task frequently and quickly
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to use a computer terminal, fax machine, and copy machine

Desired Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited CNMT Program preferred
  • CNMT Registry Preferred
  • RT(R) with appropriate training accepted
  • BLS must be obtained during orientation period
