Job Summary
Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radionuclides to produce diagnostic images and data for licensed practitioners. Verify requested examinations against physicians' written orders before performing exams and check radionuclide labels and prescribed doses using a dose calibrator. Examine requisitions for procedure details and patient conditions, refer to department manuals to ensure all views are taken, and evaluate images for technical quality before turning studies to radiologists. Administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety protocols while ensuring appropriate patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of AMA approved school for Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Certified in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT-N), or a Certification from Nuclear Medicine Technologist Cert Board (CNMT)
- State of California Nuclear Medicine license
- Registered Nuclear Medical Technologist: CA
- Basic Life Support - CPR
- Fire Safety, within 90 Days
