Job Summary
Conduct daily surveillance, access control, and patrol duties for nuclear ISFSI facilities, including monitoring alarms, investigating suspicious activities, and maintaining logs. Supervise ISFSI Specialist I personnel, ensure proper staffing, and coach team members on safety protocols and emergency procedures. Operate critical equipment such as storage casks, transfer casks, and the site diesel generator while performing fire watches and housekeeping tasks. Respond to contingency events, execute security drills, and maintain compliance with regulatory fatigue orders and 10CFR screening requirements. Work varying shifts to cover a 24-hour, seven-day operation including mandatory overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license
- 21+ years of age
- 2+ years security experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
- Minimum of four (4) years of nuclear/ISFSI security experience
- Be at least 21 years old or minimum age required by your State
- Be able to work varying shifts to cover a twenty-four hour/seven-day a week operation including mandatory overtime
- Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment
- Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Meet all physical requirements as required in 10CFR73, Appendix B
- Security and Training Qualification Plan requirements
- Thermodynamic and heat transfer theory as applicable to ISFSI operations
- Nuclear decay heat generation applicable to ISFSI storage
- Criticality considerations applicable to ISFSI storage
- Health Physics/Radiation protection
- Equipment design features and operating characteristics of ISFSI structures and components
- ISFSI Technical Specifications and selected operating emergency and administrative features
