Job Summary

Oversee physical protection of nuclear ISFSI facilities by managing surveillance, access control for personnel and materials, and monitoring alarm systems. Supervise on-shift ISFSI Specialist I staff, ensuring proper staffing and conducting site patrols, fire watches, and maintenance duties including snow removal and housekeeping. Investigate alarms and suspicious activities, report hazards, and perform required 10CFR screens and equipment tests. Operate ISFSI storage casks, transfer cask baskets, and the site diesel generator while maintaining electrical power to vital loads. Act as Emergency Director during incidents, lead security drills, and respond to contingency events. Work varying shifts to cover 24-hour, seven-day operations including mandatory overtime, adhering to regulatory fatigue orders and maintaining all required logs and reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Driver's license
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Must have 2+ years security experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
  • Be at least 21 years old or minimum age required by your State
  • Minimum of four (4) years of nuclear/ISFSI security experience
  • Be able to work varying shifts to cover a twenty-four hour/seven-day a week operation including mandatory overtime
  • Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment
  • Meet all physical requirements as required in 10CFR73, Appendix B
  • Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
