Job Summary

Nuclear Fleet Performance Improvement Consultant - Engineering sought to identify opportunities for site and fleet-wide performance enhancements through data reviews, process analyses, and coaching of engineering leaders across multiple nuclear power stations. The role involves frequent site visits to Glen Allen, VA; Jenkinsville, SC; Mineral, VA; and Waterford, CT to conduct performance deep dives, participate in self-evaluation meetings, observe operations and training, collect and analyze performance data, formulate improvement recommendations, and build implementation plans. Strong emphasis on influencing policy and process changes, stakeholder communication with station leaders and executives, and delivering clear guidance on standards of excellence and professional growth. Requires extensive engineering experience at nuclear power stations, ability to lead from a supporting/influencing position, and proven skills in organizational collaboration, project management, data interpretation, and reports/presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • Seven (7) or more years of work experience directly related to engineering activities at a nuclear power station (with a preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering)
  • In lieu of the preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a candidate may substitute an engineering related Associate's degree and nine (9) or more years of work experience directly related to engineering activities at a nuclear power station
  • In lieu of the preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a candidate may substitute a High School diploma/GED and eleven (11) or more years of work experience directly related to engineering activities at a nuclear power station
  • Demonstrated expertise with nuclear industry processes and procedures with a focus on engineering-related functions
  • Proven ability to lead from a position of support and influence
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Prior experience working with Peer Group Governance structure
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Effective verbal, presentation and writing skills
  • Demonstrated success in influence changes and process improvements
  • Proven ability to review, analyze and compile complex technical information and develop recommendations for management
  • Education Requirements: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
  • Preferred Disciplines: Business Administration, Engineering, Science
  • Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
  • Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description: Preferred: SRO License held or previously held
