Job Summary
Nuclear Regulatory and Licensing specialist needed to support NRC-licensed reactors, nuclear fuels, or other licensed facilities/operations; responsibilities include on-site examination of plant equipment and control room operations, risk-informed inspection activities, incident response, drafting quarterly public reports of regulatory findings, leading regulatory meetings with plant executives and local government, and licensing/permitting tasks across NRC and Agreement State programs. Requires direct licensing experience, familiarity with regulatory frameworks, and ability to operate in strict regulatory environments; on-site support at Oak Ridge, TN with no remote/hybrid options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field
- 10+ years’ experience preferred with practical background in nuclear power plant operations, commercial nuclear systems, or the U.S. Nuclear Navy
- Familiarity with NQA-1 and 10 CFR Part 50/51/52/53/70/71/72 and related State or Federal regulations
- Ability to wear protective gear, access high-consequence containment areas, and work a flexible schedule to monitor cross-shift plant activities
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance if needed
