Job Summary
Design, analyze, and evaluate nuclear reactor projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards and product requirements. Lead small groups of engineers to solve complex technical problems, deliver high-quality work products on time and within budget, and provide guidance to junior team members. Collaborate on planning, scheduling, and organizing engineering phases, offering technical oversight to internal and external design teams. Facilitate customer requirement assessments and recommend system design alterations to improve product quality across the assembly, transportation, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning lifecycle. Lead internal and customer design reviews and presentations. Execute assignments with clear objectives, utilizing specifications and interface control documents. Maintain a professional demeanor in all communications. Work standard office hours Monday through Friday with 10% travel as needed for project assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering or related degree from an accredited institution
- Ten years of experience in an engineering role
- A master's degree in engineering or related field
- A Ph.D. in engineering or related field
- Previous experience at X-energy exceeding performance standards
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Reactor core design and analysis
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Radiation shielding design and analysis
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Nuclear fuel analysis and qualification
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Criticality safety
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Reactor multiphysics analysis, especially pertaining to transient analysis
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Nuclear materials and chemistry
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Nuclear analysis software development, verification and validation
- Technical experience and proven expertise in Other areas of nuclear engineering or nuclear physics relevant to the design and analysis of small modular reactors, microreactors, and nuclear facilities
- 4 days in office
- 1 day remote
- 10% travel (as needed for project assignment)
- Standard office hours are 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday -Friday
- Full time - Exempt
