Job Summary
Conduct NT2 lessons for new integration participants on the Z-route or B1-route, covering literacy and practical skills within a safe environment. Coach learners through their process, monitor progress via tests, and hold advancement conversations while registering data in the follow-up system. Coordinate with partners like social workers and community coaches to deliver practical components of the curriculum. Assess student starting levels, tailor individualized teaching plans, and organize out-of-classroom learning experiences. Maintain structured records and collaborate flexibly within the team to support newcomers in building a new life in the Netherlands.
Required Qualifications
- certified teacher of Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) or equivalent teaching qualification
- experience in teaching NT2 education to status holders
- ability to determine the starting level of a student and align the teaching plan accordingly
- ability to work differentiated and align with individual learning goals
- ability to align education with practice outside school or experience in organizing NT2 education outside the classroom
- coaching skills: ability to evaluate the learning process, monitor learning behavior and language development of the student, adapt the teaching plan together with the student and trajectory coach, and stimulate the student to grow
- ability to maintain an overview, work in a structured manner, and systematically record and organize data
- ability to work well with colleagues and flexibility
- understanding of the broader context of new integration (practice-oriented learning, collaboration within the social domain, integrality)
- availability for at least 7 months, preferably longer, with multiple daily sessions per week at the lesson location in Schiedam
