Job Summary
NPU Accelerator SW Engineer needed to develop and integrate low-level software enabling NPU accelerators on automotive-grade MCUs/MPUs. Responsibilities include integrating NPU functionality into existing BSPs and automotive software stacks, ensuring real-time and safety compliance, and working within RTOS in automotive environments such as AUTOSAR and/or embedded Linux to support AI/ML workloads. Collaborate with hardware, AI/ML, and systems teams to optimize accelerator usage; conduct debugging, validation, and performance tuning on target automotive hardware; ensure compliance with automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) and coding guidelines (MISRA C/C++). The role is based in Bucharest, Romania, with a work-from-home policy and flexible hours. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in embedded software development using Embedded C/C++
- Experience with NPU or AI accelerator integration in embedded systems
- Proficiency in baremetal/RTOS and/or embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot)
- Experience integrating software into large, layered automotive software stacks
- Strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces, memory-mapped I/O, and DMA
- Experience with AI/ML inference frameworks in embedded automotive contexts (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime) is a plus
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE, and MISRA compliance is a plus
- Exposure to ADAS, sensor fusion, or AIML software stacks is a plus
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with dsp/ HiFi5 /accelerator firmware/driver development, performance optimization, multicore programming
