Job Summary
2nd Shift NPIS Sorter in Fort Smith, AR responsible for sorting diseased or defective birds in a slaughter-plant setting. Identify diseases/defects as regulated by the Poultry Product Inspection Act, determine condemnation vs salvage, condemn cadavers or badly bruised birds, trim bad parts, and record lot information into the computer. Safety-sensitive role with no supervisory responsibilities; duties include following policies, maintaining quality and safety, and supporting operational procedures. Shift runs 2:30 p.m. to EOS; includes attendance incentives and shift premiums; benefits and time off available after probationary periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
