Job Summary
Perform detailed hand assembly of prototypes, including soldering and crimping wire and cable harnesses while assembling electronic components on prototype boards. Prepare recipes and files for processing tools, read assembly instructions to develop prototypes, and troubleshoot visually and physically to ensure functionality. Maintain a safe and clean workspace while adhering to prescribed safety procedures and wearing required PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and clean-room frocks. This role supports Process Engineers in the build and analysis of flexible circuits within the automotive electronics sector.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience in assembling and connecting electronic components and circuits on prototype boards
- Strong proficiency with manual soldering and manual solder rework
- Professional working experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or research and development environment
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment, hand tools, and assembly techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Proven computer skills to enter data and record information
- Aptitude to follow process instructions
- Understanding of production procedures
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean workspace
- Team-oriented and self-directed
- 100% onsite in San Carlos, CA
- Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
