Job Summary
Set up production systems from scratch and develop, document, and validate manufacturing processes, assembly instructions, and standard operating procedures. Review product designs to optimize them for manufacturing, assembly, and testing while identifying potential production issues early. Manage project timelines to ensure efficient movement through gated development phases from concept to volume production. Lead quality tools like Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to identify risks and coordinate the selection, design, and validation of production tools, jigs, fixtures, and test equipment. Serve as the primary liaison between R&D, supply chain, quality assurance, and mass production teams to align the product development lifecycle with manufacturing capabilities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in NPI or manufacturing engineering
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems
- Strong understanding of assembly processes, testing methodologies, and quality standards
- Strong root-cause analysis skills to troubleshoot yields, component failures, and production bottlenecks
- Excellent leadership and project coordination abilities to align diverse, global, or cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
