Job Summary
Develop new highly automated manufacturing and pilot lines from concept to production for new and existing products. Drive development of new/innovative manufacturing processes from proof of concept through to full scale production that enable improved battery performance and/or cost. Plan and Execute DoEs to characterize boundary conditions and optimize process for manufacturability and quality. Own design/manufacturing liaison relationship to optimize product from an automation standpoint prior to release. Drive equipment and process optimization to increase yield, throughput, and availability while reducing cost and lead-time. Manage installation, qualification, and ramp of development lines. Generate machine specifications, standards, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing and design of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems, with at least 1 year specifically focused on electric motors or electromechanical actuators
- Proficiency in CAD software NX for test fixture design, with an understanding of design for manufacturability for various methods (e.g., CNC, 3D printing)
- Experience developing and launching a manufacturing assembly line from concept to production with actuators or drive systems
