Job Summary
Assist lead teachers with developing, preparing, and implementing lesson plans and IEP goals; reinforce learning through one-on-one and small group instruction for diverse learners; oversee students during non-classroom times, including lunch, recess, and field trips; assist with documentation of student progress and parent communication; support classroom management, behavioral interventions, and positive reinforcement strategies; participate in professional development, conferences, and meetings related to special education
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree preferred in education/special education/child development or related field
- Paraprofessional certification a plus
- 2-3 years of experience with children, especially with special needs
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and positive behavioral interventions
