Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant sought to join Essentia Health’s General Surgery wound care team in Fargo, ND. The role supports a busy surgical practice with 0.8–1.0 FTE, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, providing care for pediatric and adult patients. The position emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention within a high-volume clinic, with an average of 10–15 outpatient visits daily. Candidates must have Wound Care experience, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and work collaboratively with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team. Education requirements include a Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing for NP (or Bachelor’s/Master’s in PA Studies for PA). Licensure in North Dakota (RN for NP, NP or PA licensure as applicable) and CPR certification are required, with WOCN certification preferred or obtainable within 1 year. The role includes credentialing by Essentia Health prior to practice and potential bonuses or incentive compensation; Essentia Health is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited NP program OR Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Active North Dakota RN licensure (NP candidates) or NP licensure or PA licensure as applicable
- Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification preferred or able to obtain within 1 year of hire
- CPR certification; credentialing process completion prior to practice
- Wound Care experience required
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule; 0.8–1.0 FTE; Monday–Friday
