Job Summary
Conduct patient interviews, document histories, and perform physical examinations under physician direction. Order and perform laboratory tests, x-rays, and specialized procedures including cast application and wound suturing. Assist in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment while educating patients on health habits and medication. Maintain accurate patient records, prepare statistical reports, and train students and residents in specific techniques. Participate in professional activities and organizational health services committees to maintain current knowledge of clinical trends. Requires Georgia licensure, BLS, and ACLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
- Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body
- Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
- At least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
- BLS certification
- Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS certification
