Job Summary
Conduct patient evaluations, treatment, and physical examinations under physician direction, including specialized procedures like cast application and wound care. Order and perform diagnostic tests such as urinalyses, blood work, and x-rays while documenting histories, psychosocial data, and care plans in medical records. Educate patients on health habits, medication management, and follow-up needs; collaborate with physicians for referrals and consultations. Prepare statistical reports on research protocols and adverse trends. Train students and residents in setting-specific techniques and participate in organizational health services committees. Requires current Georgia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, BLS certification, and experience in high-acuity clinical specialties.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
- Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body
- Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
- At least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
- BLS certification
- Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS certification
