Job Summary

Provide comprehensive inpatient oncology care for hospitalized patients, including independent assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute complications. Coordinate daily care with the interdisciplinary team, attendings, and external providers while recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies. Order and interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe medications and supportive therapies, and perform approved bedside procedures. Deliver education to patients, families, and staff regarding cancer treatment, symptom management, and discharge planning. Deliver clinical coverage in the ambulatory oncology setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing for NP for MSN (NP)
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (NP)
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Active licensure from the DC DOH as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of the Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • DC Controlled Substances License
  • Federal DEA License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in medical oncology, including both inpatient and ambulatory (outpatient) oncology practice
