Job Summary
Provide comprehensive inpatient oncology care for hospitalized patients, including assessment, diagnosis, management of acute complications, and development of evidence-based plans of care. Coordinate daily management with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams while recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies. Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic studies; prescribe medications, supportive therapies, and perform approved bedside procedures. Deliver patient, family, and caregiver education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge planning. Provide clinical coverage in the ambulatory oncology setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing for NP for MSN (NP)
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (NP)
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- Active licensure from the DC DOH as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of the Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- DC Controlled Substances License
- Federal DEA License
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification

Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience in medical oncology, including both inpatient and ambulatory (outpatient) oncology practice
