Job Summary

Manage critically ill adult ICU patients through comprehensive assessments, treatment plan implementation, and daily multidisciplinary rounds. Perform required invasive procedures including central venous and arterial line insertions while interpreting diagnostic studies and laboratory results. Collaborate with attending physicians on clinical decision-making and communicate effectively with nursing staff and ancillary teams. Document all patient care accurately and timely in Cerner. This supplemental night shift role requires three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00p to 7:30a, with a patient-to-provider ratio of 10–15. Candidates must hold active state licensure, appropriate national certification, and 1–2 years of ICU experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Active state licensure
  • Nurse Practitioners must be Acute Care Certified (ACNP)
  • Physician Assistants must hold appropriate national certification
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of ICU experience as an APP
  • Proficiency in ICU procedures including central and arterial line placement
  • Ability to work independently in a high-acuity ICU environment
  • Effective communication with physicians and nursing staff
  • Hospital Privileges
  • Case Logs for central and arterial line procedures
  • Full-time night shift coverage
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Shift Hours: 7:00p – 7:30a
  • Adult ICU patients
  • Medical and surgical ICU admissions
  • Rounding each shift
  • Phone Consults as required
  • Critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Cerner EMR System
  • Central venous line insertion (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)
  • Arterial line insertion
  • ICU patient assessment and management
  • Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement treatment plans
  • Collaborate with attending physicians on plan of care and clinical decision-making
  • Interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory results
  • Perform required invasive ICU procedures per credentialing
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
  • Communicate effectively with ICU nursing staff and ancillary teams
  • Document all patient care accurately and timely in the EMR
