Job Summary

Conduct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare services for patients, families, students, and nursing staff in urgent care, family practice, rural health, and occupational medicine settings. Perform physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessments, and manage health-illness needs while evaluating and treating workers' compensation cases. Provide direct patient care and education, lead and delegate tasks, and access specialty referrals and community resources. Report to the Nurse Manager for departmental operations. This role is open to both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Family Nurse Practitioner program
  • Recent experience appropriate to the clinical area where practice will occur, such as urgent care, family practice, rural health care, walk-in medical care, occupational medicine
  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application
  • Meets Centers for MediCal and Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare
  • Current CPR recognition
  • Current ACLS recognition (within 6 months of hire)
  • Current PALS recognition (within 1 year of hire)
  • Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff and Finance office
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner Certification (within one year of hire)
  • Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessor agencies)
  • Current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current California Physician Assistant License
  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA), if not a graduate from an accredited ARC Physician Assistant educational program
  • Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve
  • Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Shift: Days
  • Shift length: 12-hours
  • Days off: Variable, Weekends required
  • Hours per pay period: 72 hours

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Occupational Health Center, Walk-in Clinics, Primary Care Practice
  • One-year experience evaluation & treatment in workers' compensation/injured worker episodic care setting, occupational and environmental health clinic, and /or employee health nurse in a medical or industrial facility: Occupational Health
  • One year California Health, Disability Program (CHDP) experience
  • ECHC, LMFHC
  • ECHC, LMFHC, Occupational Health Center
