Job Summary
The Infusion Unit First Responder team at the MGB Cancer Institute, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, seeks a full-time NP or PA to provide high-quality outpatient oncology and hematology care. The role involves supervising infusion patient care, assisting with acute reactions and urgent symptom management, collaborating with hematology/oncology teams and nursing, and supporting care coordination, triage, and capacity optimization. The APP writes orders aligned with guidelines, participates in interdisciplinary committees, contributes to education for staff and patients, and supports research initiatives. The position requires delivering comprehensive histories and physicals, ordering/interpreting tests, developing care plans, maintaining timely documentation, and performing bedside procedures as appropriate. Licensure, credentialing, and ongoing professional development are required to maintain practice standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree Nursing or Physician Assistant required
- Licensed as RN/ APRN/ PA in Massachusetts (MA License)
- DEA registration and MCSR required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an APP in oncology preferred
