Job Summary
Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts according to specifications. Select equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions; inspect welds and ensure adherence to specifications; use micrometer/calipers for measurements; produce high-quality welds with various materials (weld steel, stainless, aluminum). Requires carbon air arc cutting and butt-seam preparation. Shift may require overtime, weekends, and holidays. Housing assistance is available.
Required Qualifications
- Labor One is hiring 1st Class Structural Welders
- shipyard experience is required
- welding experience in arc/gas-shielded arc/submerged arc
- carbon air arc cutting experience with butt seams and preparation of seams
