Job Summary
Assembles and fits to drawing dimensions of all kinds of structural, plate and mechanical materials into all types of assemblies. Reads blueprints, section and plan drawings, and weld symbols to determine measurements, dimensions, and material quantities; unloads, sorts, and stacks heavy steel pieces and hoists into place; fabricates, assembles, and installs structural steel products such as beams, braces, pipes, and plates for jackets and decks. Lays out and fits pipe, beams, decks and jackets; frames skids, bends, and elevations for jackets; cuts plate, pipe, and beams with a cutting torch. Uses Come-a-longs, chain falls, and other industry tools; performs estimating of sizes, distances, and quantities; inspects subordinate's work for compliance with plans and specifications and takes corrective action as needed. Requires ability to meet physical demands, work outdoors in all weather, and overtime including nights/weekends as required. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field
- read blueprints, section and plan drawings, and weld symbols
- proficient with electrical, hand tools, power tools and measurement tools
- able to meet physical requirements
- able to climb and work at heights
- able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required
