Job Summary
Shipfitter – 1st Class at a Florida shipyard. Responsible for performing steel structural work in all stages of new construction of marine vessels with minimal supervision. Requires working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read blueprints, interpret job specifications and drawings, and knowledge of ship terminology. Three years of related experience required. Housing assistance and per-diem available; overtime; long-term project; call for details. Bilingual Spanish speakers welcome. Tampa, FL area; on-site role.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings (including weld symbols).
- Ability to read and interpret ship construction terminology and compartment nomenclature.
- Knowledge of ship terminology and blueprints.
