Job Summary
Shipfitter responsible for surface preparation of structural metal components and the layout and fabrication of metal structural parts within the hull of a vessel for riveting and welding. Works from blueprints or templates to lay out parts on metal, aligns and positions parts with assistance, and performs bending, flange work, cutting, and shaping of plates and beams. Requires ability to read blueprints/drawings; prior shipfitter experience preferred; cutting torch operation and tack welding highly desirable. Required Qualifications
- Shipyard experience is required
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
