Job Summary
Now Hiring Shipfitters with 4-5 years shipyard experience. Responsibilities include welding, tacking, burning, scarfing; must pass FCAW welding assessments; Fillet weld tests 2F-3F-4F with VT testing; VT and Fracture testing for T Bar 12x4” 3/8” thick; must comprehend written and verbal instructions in English; must read and understand safety instructions, regulations and warnings; must pass background, vision, and drug tests; able to work any shift and overtime; walk-ins accepted. Location in San Diego, CA and National City, CA; per diem of $160 if eligible.
Required Qualifications
- 4-5 years of shipyard experience
- Welding, tacking, burning, and scarfing
- Must pass the following Ship fitter Welding Assessment: FCAW
- Fillet weld plates: 2F 3F 4F (VT test)
- Fillet testing shall take 1-2 hours
- T Bar 12X4” 3/8” thick: 2F 3F 4F (VT and Fracture test)
- Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English)
- Must be able to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings.
- Must pass a background check, vision test and drug test.
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime.
