Job Summary
Perform steel and aluminum structural work on marine vessels, including US Naval Vessels and commercial ships, with minimal supervision. Requires ability to read and interpret drawings, understand ship terminology, fabricate templates, and install structures per drawings. Must be able to use oxy-acetylene cutting and welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW) and operate hand/power tools; must meet physical demands and work in shipyard environment with PPE. Minimum four years of related experience; shipyard experience strongly preferred. Shift is 2nd shift, 40 hours/week with overtime on approval; duties include maintaining safety and quality, adhering to NAVSEA/ABS/Coast Guard standards, and supervising helpers as needed.
