Job Summary
Protect staff, patients, and visitors from harm by implementing and monitoring the security management plan. Address security issues concerning patients, visitors, personnel, and property while investigating and reporting on incidents. Respond to emergency situations, control access to sensitive areas, and manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Perform security patrols and monitor technical systems including access control and CCTV. Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations and demonstrate customer service excellence. This role requires IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification within 90 days, a favorable driving record, and flexibility for shift work. Based at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, a Magnet-designated leader recognized as the #1 hospital in the region.
Required Qualifications
- IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification within ninety (90) days from date of hire and maintained active throughout employment
- favorable driving record
- background check
- flexibility in work schedule with the ability to work on other shifts when needed
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Valid Driver's License
