Job Summary
This role involves removing, installing, and testing shipboard equipment on maritime vessels, including main reduction gears, pumps, valves, hydraulic and steam equipment, and requires working from drawings/specifications, reading prints, and following NAVSEA standards. The candidate must have shipyard/machinist experience (3 years, maritime preferred), be able to operate hand and power tools, perform measurements using US customary/metric units, wear appropriate PPE, and comply with safety and quality procedures. Responsibilities include coordinating with the supervisor, assisting with material takeoffs and OQE preparation, and performing tasks across a shipyard environment with variable conditions. First-shift, 40-hour week with possible overtime; location-based at San Diego/National City, CA.
