Marine Electricians needed in a San Diego, CA shipyard for installation, repair, and hook-up of shipboard electrical systems. Fiber optic experience required. Duties include running cables and leads, terminations/fabrication, cable routing and harnessing aboard vessels; preparing work areas, drilling, grinding, inspecting cableways and electrical equipment, testing internal circuits for continuity and faults, inspecting mechanical and electrical connections, locating grounds and faults, maintaining telephones and related equipment, installing new power and lighting circuits, and applying Lock-out Tag-out safety procedures. Knowledge of electrical theory and shipboard electrical procedures is required; ability to troubleshoot and repair 600 V and lower systems in accordance with specifications and drawings.
