Job Summary
Responsible for installation, repair, and hookup of electrical services on ships, with working knowledge of electrical theory and ability to troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less) per specifications and drawings. Must comply with OSHA and shipyard safety practices, wear PPE, and complete daily tasks; responsibilities include running cables and harnessing, testing circuits, inspecting mechanical and electrical connections, and ensuring quality documentation (CFR). Requires six years of related electrical installation/repair experience, shipyard environment adaptability, ability to read blueprints and electrical diagrams, and proficiency with electrical measuring devices. Second shift, 40 hours per week; location includes National City and San Diego, CA. There is potential for overtime as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Six years of related electrical installation and repair experience
- Shipyard experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and Navy standards manual
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and PPE requirements
- Ability to perform Lock-out Tag-out procedures
- Understanding of Ohm's law and electrical measurement devices
