Job Summary
Electrician Journeyperson for marine shipyard project in San Diego, CA. Responsible for installation, repair, and hook-up of electrical services on ships (600 V and less). Must troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems, read electrical drawings and manuals (IEE, ABS, Coast Guard), and provide quality work with documentation. Requires OSHA-compliant safety practices, PPE, ability to work shifts, and six years of related electrical installation/repair experience. Knowledge of Ohm's law and electrical measuring devices, ability to interpret blueprints/composite diagrams, and familiarity with safety procedures and Lock-out/Tag-out. Walking, standing, lifting (up to 100 lbs occasionally), and working in a shipyard environment are required; capable of touring vessels and work sites. Walk-ins and onsite application accepted, full-time, second shift in San Diego area.
Required Qualifications
- Shipyard experience
- Must possess the skill sets of subordinate grades of the labor class
- Must be able to wear PPE and comply with OSHA standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and manuals (IEE, ABS, Coast Guard)
- Must have six (6) years of related electrical installation and repair experience
