Job Summary
Operate heavy-duty trucks with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments to transport waste, recyclable material, or large mobile containers to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. Navigate high-traffic roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots while performing highly skilled backing maneuvers in both commercial and residential environments. Conduct pre and post-trip inspections, document checks using the DVIR, and completely dump receptacles leaving customer locations clean. Report unsafe situations, service interruptions, or incidents to Operations Manager or Dispatch, communicate customer requests, and follow route assignments to complete end-of-day documentation. Work Mondays through Fridays starting at 6:30 am at the Castlegar site.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a Class 3 or higher
- equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years
- must be at least 18 years of age
- legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located- Canada, with a valid SIN (social insurance number)
- Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher
- strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols
- subject to drug and alcohol testing—including pre‐employment screening, post‐incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing
