Job Summary
Now Hiring 6GR Welders to read blueprints and drawings, determine welding methods, and weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment in multiple positions. Will perform fabrication and repair of large structures and platforms in Ingleside, TX, with Flux Core/fCAW and 6GR test requirements. Responsibilities include setting up components per specifications, aligning with calipers and rulers, operating grinders, ensuring weld quality, maintaining equipment safety, and passing the 6GR test (root/fill/cap) with specified pipe specs. Candidates must pass a physical and urinalysis, be willing to work at heights, and comply with PPE safety standards. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Read blueprints and drawings or read plan measurements and follow layouts and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components of welding according to specifications.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
- Repair machinery by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Verify welded surfaces/structures for flaws.
- Maintain equipment safety and readiness.
- Experience with FCAW, STICK welding.
- Experience with electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, calipers).
- Read and interpret technical drawings/documents.
- Knowledge of safety standards and PPE usage.
- Experience with cutting tools.
- Ability to measure and cut materials.
- Pass 6GR Test.
- Willing to work at heights and in confined spaces.
