Job Summary
Head Coach for Cross Country at Notre Dame Prep oversees all aspects of the program, including planning and conducting daily practices, leading and motivating student-athletes, setting performance goals, developing game strategies, supervising game day operations, coordinating with the Athletic Director on scheduling, developing individualized athlete development plans, monitoring academic eligibility, and maintaining team records. The role emphasizes leadership, athlete development, safety and injury prevention, recruitment, collaboration with the athletic department, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture while balancing academics and athletics. Evening and weekend work, as well as travel for away games or competitions, are required.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred
- At least 3-5 years of coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, with a proven record of success in the sport
- First Aid/CPR certification is required
