Northern Regional Manager

Job Summary
Oversee safe and efficient aircraft handling, passenger service, baggage operations, and ramp activities across Air North's northern network. Monitor operational performance metrics including on-time performance, delays, and staffing levels while leading teams through irregular operations and emergencies. Manage station teams, contractors, vendors, and airport authorities to ensure reliable service and resolve escalated customer matters. Support compliance with Transport Canada requirements and Safety Management System standards. Monitor staffing levels, operational expenses, and vendor performance to drive efficiency. Build strong relationships with northern communities, Indigenous governments, and key stakeholders to support regional growth. This role requires frequent travel to outstations and a mix of office-based responsibilities and outdoor operational activities in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in aviation
- At least 3 years of management or leadership experience
- Ability to obtain and retain a valid security clearance, radio, and airside driving permits
- Physical ability to work in an active operational environment, including heavy lifting, extended standing, confined spaces, kneeling, etc.
- Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or proof of right to work in Canada
- Valid driver's license (implied by requirement to obtain airside driving permits)
- Valid security clearance (implied by requirement to obtain and retain)
- Valid radio license (implied by requirement to obtain and retain)
- Valid airside driving permit (implied by requirement to obtain and retain)
- Frequent travel to northern outstations
- Work in all weather conditions
