Job Summary

This role involves studying blueprints, selecting materials, preparing layouts, shaping materials, and ensuring the accuracy of completed structures. Carpenters must work safely, maintain a safe work environment, and be physically capable of handling heavy materials, climbing, and performing a variety of tasks that often change. Wages range from $34.26 to $57.10 per hour based on experience and union scale.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Proficiency with carpenter’s hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of local building codes
- Ability to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans
