Job Summary
Administer child care programs at designated YMCA sites by supervising participants, implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, and maintaining site records to ensure state licensure compliance. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports including attendance and CACFP, while managing a file system for policies, enrollment, and staff data. Provide program coverage as needed, arrange substitutes, and coordinate with supervisors on promotional activities, newsletters, and facility maintenance. Notify leadership of parent concerns or unsafe conditions and administer first aid if required. Maintain safety through appropriate supervision, behavior management techniques, and adherence to YMCA and state quality guidelines while representing the organization to participants and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma
- Certification in CPR at the level of Basic Life Support or Professional Rescuer
- Basic First Aid
- Emergency Oxygen Administration
- determined safety training
- Minimum 2 years working in a licensed childcare program
- Minimum 1 years' experience with all ODJFS licensing procedures and Step Up to Quality requirements
- Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect
- Ability to drive from site to site throughout Northeast Ohio
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to administer the program, fiscal, and personnel policies of the association
- Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations
- Excellent time management, customer service, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and handle high volume of work
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite with excellent Excel skills
- Experience with comparable payroll/HRIS system
- Ability to travel as required
- Must be available for weekend shifts
