Job Summary
Manage and facilitate Before & Afterschool Enrichment and Early Learning programs at designated YMCA sites, ensuring effective and efficient operation of one or two childcare locations. Create and implement lesson plans that incorporate activities promoting cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development while maintaining site records to ensure state licensure compliance. Direct supervision of Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers, reviewing and appraising their effectiveness to make appropriate training recommendations or staff changes. Design inclusive learning opportunities, administer the program's fiscal and personnel policies, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations including emergency preparedness plans. Communicate with families about learning activities and child development, represent the YMCA by developing positive relationships with parents and community groups, and maintain a clean, orderly work environment. Drive between sites throughout Northeast Ohio as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have education and/or certification to meet OCCRRA requirements for CPL 3 (OCCRRA)
- Certification in CPR at the level of Basic Life Support or Professional Rescuer
- Basic First Aid
- Emergency Oxygen Administration
- associated-determined safety training required within 30 days of hire
- Minimum 3 years working in a SCHOOL AGE/PRESCHOOL child care setting
- Minimum 1-year experience supervising and managing staff
- Minimum 1-year experience working with Microsoft office products
- Minimum 2 years' experience with all ODJFS licensing procedures and Step Up to Quality requirements
- Ability to drive from site to site throughout Northeast Ohio
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect
- Completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form
- Calling children protective services (696-Kids)
- Notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience WORKING with diverse populations preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience with all ODJFS licensing procedures and Step Up to Quality requirements preferred
- experience with comparable payroll/HRIS system preference for ADP, Kronos, or Ceridian
