Job Summary
Head Coach responsibilities across varsity, junior varsity, and freshman; Assistant Coach supports the head coach with instruction, supervision, and program operations; requires coaching certifications, MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification, and emergency coaching experience; ensures only cleared athletes participate in tryouts, maintains equipment and budgets, conducts pre-season meetings, supervises staff and facilities, and promotes sportsmanship and character while ensuring safety of student-athletes.
Required Qualifications
- Certified teachers or professional educators employed by a local Board of Education
- Individuals certified by MSDE under COMAR 13A.12.01
- Credentialed coaches who: Are eligible for a Maryland certificate under COMAR 13A.12.01
- Hold MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification
- Have two years of successful emergency coaching experience
- Have one year of successful emergency coaching experience at the hiring school in the position applied for
