Job Summary
Assist students with orientation, reading, music, art, physical education, and other curriculum tasks in accordance with their prescribed learning programs. Follow prescribed behavioral management programs and assist with physical mobility, self-care, hygiene, and daily living activities including toileting and feeding. Participate in physical activities and supervise students during non-classroom activities. Distribute materials, prepare bulletin boards, write lessons, and correct student work while maintaining instructional supplies. Report successes and difficulties with student learning plans to special educators in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by special educators, the Student Services Director, or building principal.

- Ability to effectively interact and maintain a professional rapport with others, including students, teachers, parents, and other staff members in the district
- Competency to provide academic support with pre-school level curriculum
- Experience working with colleagues to organize, plan, and implement lessons
- Flexibility to work independently
- Demonstration of good judgment
- Social and academic skills to promote cultural differences
- Regular, reliable and punctual attendance
