Job Summary

Develop and execute the North America Medical Affairs strategy aligned with franchise and global business objectives. Lead and develop a team of Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Affairs professionals across the U.S. and Canada while serving as the primary medical expert for Ethicon product portfolios. Oversee regional medical governance, product lifecycle management, and clinical evidence generation, partnering closely with commercial, regulatory, and quality organizations to ensure safe and effective product use. Build trusted relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and professional societies to deliver scientific insights that support executive decision-making. Manage Medical Affairs operating budgets and prioritize resource allocation to deliver business and patient impact.

Required Qualifications

  • MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent medical degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics, or related healthcare industries
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experiences involving direct patient care
  • Proven track record of success in creating strategic vision, acting as a change agent in leading organizational change with successful operational and tactical execution
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, evidence generation, healthcare regulations, and medical governance
  • Experience engaging with healthcare professionals, investigators, and key opinion leaders
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to integrate scientific and commercial perspectives
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally ~ 30%

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience within Medical Device, Surgical Technologies, or related MedTech sectors
  • Previous people leadership experience (Inclusive of direct or indirect reports) within Medical Affairs
  • Experience supporting North America or global healthcare markets
  • MBA or other advanced business qualification
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational leadership
