Job Summary
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical systems, appliances, and facilities on commercial solar projects, including installing wiring, equipment, and fixtures on roofs and scaffolding. Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and code compliance checks while mitigating hazards and ensuring circuit integrity using specialized test equipment. Execute physically demanding tasks such as trench digging, conduit installation, and lifting up to 50 lbs daily across varied weather conditions. This role requires mandatory travel up to five days a week within California for site visits and project coordination. Candidates must possess at least three years of commercial solar electrician experience and a thorough understanding of high and low voltage systems.
Required Qualifications
- Mandatory ability to travel up to 5 days a week
- Commercial solar experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in a commercial, industrial, or solar electrician journeyman capacity
- Thorough understanding of electrical equipment, high and low voltages, electrical theory, power generation, switchgear maintenance and paralleling procedures
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety
- Ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning
- Versed in all electrical test equipment
- Valid drivers license
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed to achieve objectives without supervision
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Up close vision, reading, color deciphering and identification
- Distant vision, reading, color deciphering and identification
- Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
