Job Summary
Monitor and supervise children in the cafeteria or other facilities to ensure safe and responsible conduct. Foster effective relationships with students while observing play activities and intervening to prevent unacceptable behavior. Counsel students as needed and refer disciplinary cases to the appropriate authority. Report unauthorized persons on school premises and notify the health office regarding accidents. Maintain surveillance of the assigned area and perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objective of the position.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work with children at different age levels
- Some experience in rearing, supervising, or working with children
- Good human relations skills
- Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules
- Ability to stoop, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting
- Finger or manual dexterity
- Repetitive finger motion capability
- Speaking ability
- Hearing ability
- Seeing ability (with correction)
- Focusing ability
- Ability to lift or exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in a like field
