Job Summary
Monitor and supervise student activities in the cafeteria or other facilities to ensure safe and responsible conduct. Foster effective relationships with students while counseling and intervening to prevent unacceptable behavior. Refer disciplinary cases to appropriate authorities and report unauthorized persons on school premises. Notify the health office regarding accidents and perform other duties as assigned to support the district's objective. Work 3.5 hours daily as part-time support staff with a 9-month calendar.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work with children at different age levels
- Some experience in rearing, supervising, or working with children
- Good human relations skills
- Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules
- Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job
- Be responsible, reliable, and punctual
- Be flexible and adaptable to change
- Positively accept direction
- Maintain courteous, cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Direct constructive criticism toward improving the district
- Exercise positive problem-solving behavior and conflict resolution skills

- Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting
- The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability
- Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises
- The work may require lifting or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently

Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in a like field may be considered for a 1% increase, combined with experience not to exceed 5% in addition to starting hourly rate for position
- New Hire Experience Credit: Starting hourly rate will be determined based on experience in a full time, paid job with like duties held in the previous 10 years. 1% per year starting in year 2, not to exceed the max hiring range of 5%
