Job Summary
Provide safety and supervision for students during the school day, work with students individually and in small groups, assist with class work, play learning games, supervise recess and hallway activity, assist with makeup work, manage attendance, duplicate materials, and support teachers with office tasks and communications. Promote positive social interactions, maintain confidentiality of student records, and act as a role model for ethical and democratic values. Job duties also include chaperoning field trips, administering first aid as needed, and assisting with general school projects and routine inquiries. Requires high school diploma or GED and a valid Ohio Teacher’s Aide Certificate/Permit with fingerprinting; strong communication, organizational, and student-management skills are needed.
